Concord, Contra Costa County
The Concord Pavilion opened in 1975 in the hills on the east side of Concord. Frank Gehry designed the open-air amphitheater early in his career, setting the stage beneath a broad roof at the base of a grassy bowl. The city owns the venue, which seats about 12,500 and fills its calendar with concerts from spring through fall.
